What Is ?Self Defence??

The term “self defence” is widespread in nowadays. It can be defined as to protect oneself as a person or property from an unwarranted attack of another persons, or animals that cannot be avoided. Person who attempts to defend usually does such acts to escape from immediate dangers that may cause physical injury. Some countries has given consent to carry weapons for self defence with out having license, but in some other countries people should obtain valid license to carry weapons for self defence. Knives, pepper sprays, stun guns, batons etc are very common weapons used to defend from others attacks. Laws of various countries are not treating self defence if used in right way as a crime. But if the action cause any harm to attacker then one should prove before the court the reason behind the defensive action.

Physically attacking the strangers is not a wise act in all the time, instead of that people should avoid dangerous situations. For example, if you are already aware that one particular place is covered by deadly dacoits and they will catch traveler’s money and other valuables, then in order to prevent the victim of them you can keep away from that place while travelling. But this may not be the situation for all the time.

As per the data of National Clearinghouse in Defense of Battered Women, Washington, D.C, more than 50% of the women are facing physical harassment from their relationships. They revealed that more than 75% of children’s and teenagers are sexually/physically abused by various persons. Individuals especially women, children and teen agers are facing troubles and rude behaviors. The physical violence towards these people may be from their own friends and relatives. Special training for self defence should be given to these vulnerable groups. Learning martial arts is a best way to learn self defence methods. People can approach various persons like body guards, and military personnel or ex convicts who has encountered the real time experience in facing violence can able to guide others about the modern violence and mechanism to be used to defend that violence.

Accurate movements and mental focus is essential in any kinds of fighting especially for self defence. Brain produces flight to flight reactions at the time of defending; people may find it difficult to cope with the incoming dangers yet the success will depend on how to manage those critical situations. Age, gender, and size of the individuals could not make any difference to defend oneself from the attackers, only brain can pave the way towards the success.
